'Pecha Kucha' a japanese term which roughly translates as 'chit-chat' is an event in which presenters show a slideshow of 20 images, each of which is shown for 20 seconds - giving a total presentation time of 6 minutes 20 seconds. The audience experiences an exhilarating range of speakers and images over the course of the evening, and there's also music, drinking and the inevitable exchange of ideas that occurs during Pecha Kucha nights. This world-wide event which has been replicated in more than 200 cities, including London, San Francisco, Seattle, Rotterdam, Shanghai and Berlin celebrates its first anniversary of being held in Hamilton in August, and is proudly part of Wintec's Spark Festival.
Pecha Kucha is for CONTENT and not profit. Pecha Kucha was originally devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein-Dytham Architecture (KDa) in Tokyo, Japan in 2003.
