ABOUT CCI
Wintec’s Centre for Creative Industries aims to support the cultural
and economic development of the region through innovation projects for the
creative industries sector.
OUR GOALS
The Centre for Creative Industries seeks to foster innovation by:
1. Establishing strategic “creative industries” innovation projects for Wintec and
building/maintaining a national leadership role.
2. Forging
links with business, government & communities to collaboratively develop
and support new creative innovation projects.
3. Enhancing
the culture of innovation within Wintec by creating innovative solutions to meet
both sector & institute needs.
4. Supporting
cultural and economic development, particularly the growth of the creative
industries economy in the Waikato region.

CCI Staff
Director – Cheryl Reynolds
Cheryl Reynolds came from the UK to launch CCI in 2003. She has extensive international experience in the arts and creative industries sector as a manager, practitioner and creative entrepreneur. Cheryl was most recently Managing Director UK for Antenna Audio, the global leader in interactive guides and audio interpretation for museums and cultural sites worldwide. She has also held the posts of General Manager of Camberley Theatre, Surrey; Executive Director of Impressions Gallery, York; and Founding Director of Focal Point Gallery, Essex.
Cheryl is a practising artist and has served on many advisory boards including the UK’s Arts Council, Creative New Zealand Smash Palace Fund, and the NZ Ministry for Research Science and Technology. Winner of the UK’s Graduate Enterprise Award, Cheryl has a post-graduate diploma in Business Management from the University of Portsmouth and a Masters in Fine Arts (Hons) from Massey University.
